Sunday, September 22, 2024 - Choose Your Hard: My Signature Sin
Sunday Sep 22, 2024
Sunday Sep 22, 2024
Series Title: "Choose Your Hard"
In this sermon, Pastor Matthew tackles the tough spiritual issues and sins we all face, with today's focus on our "signature sin"—the repetitive, deeply rooted sin we naturally fall into.
Key Truths:
We Naturally Sin: Sin is part of our nature, inherited at birth (Psalm 51:5). While our temptations vary, sin has always existed, and we aren't alone in our struggles (1 Corinthians 10:13).
We Have a Repetitive Sin: Paul acknowledges the ongoing struggle of doing what we know is wrong (Romans 7:18-20). This "besetting sin" is often rationalized or justified, making it harder to overcome (Hebrews 12:1).
Our Sin is Evil: Sin isn't just bad—it's evil. Left unchecked, it can destroy relationships, health, and even lives (Romans 6:23). We need to view it as something to be actively fought, not tolerated.
We Are in a War Against Sin: There's a constant battle between our sinful nature and our desire to do good. We're either fighting for freedom or being enslaved by sin (Ephesians 6:12).
Jesus is Our Only Hope: Freedom from sin comes through Jesus' sacrifice (2 Corinthians 5:21). Confession, not just profession, is key to breaking free (1 John 1:9). We must acknowledge and uproot sin through true repentance.
Conclusion: To rid ourselves of deep-rooted sin, we must confront and confess it to Jesus, who delivers us.

Sunday Sep 15, 2024
In this sermon of our series "Choose Your Hard," we tackle one of the toughest challenges we all face: lasting change. Jeremy shares his personal journey of battling alcohol addiction and the realization that true transformation is often harder than we expect. We explore why some habits and sins, no matter how hard we try, just won't budge without Jesus.
Through an honest look at Luke 14:25-35, we dive into the deeper meaning of being a disciple versus merely claiming the title "Christian." It’s not just about showing up or doing enough; it’s about intentional spiritual growth and dependence on God. We also discuss why our spiritual life requires daily effort, and how real change starts with surrendering control and choosing the presence of Jesus over our own strength.
This powerful message touches on:
Why spiritual growth is so difficult
The difference between natural and spiritual growth
The importance of measuring our spiritual life by time spent with Jesus, not by our own production
Why the little things in life reveal the true state of our spiritual maturity
If you've ever found yourself saying, "I didn’t know it was going to be this hard," this video will give you the tools and encouragement you need to keep pressing on in your journey with Jesus.
Watch till the end to hear how rushing through life might be the very thing holding you back from being more like Christ!

Sunday Sep 08, 2024
In this powerful sermon titled "Why Can’t I Change—Are You Ready to Burn the Ship?", Pastor Rick explores the concept of fully committing to spiritual change. Drawing from historical examples like Sun Tzu, Alexander the Great, and Hernán Cortés, Pastor Rick explains the importance of "burning the ships"—leaving no room for retreat when it comes to tackling the toughest spiritual battles.
We all face struggles we can’t seem to overcome, despite our best efforts. In this introduction to the "Choose Your Hard" series, Pastor Rick asks why some things in our lives seem impossible to change, and how only through Jesus can we truly experience transformation.
This message addresses what changes when we come to Christ and what doesn’t—helping us understand the ongoing struggle with sin and how to find victory. Pastor Rick challenges us to make the decision to "burn the ship" and never look back, committing fully to the freedom we have in Christ.

Through the teachings of James 4:13-17, he highlights the importance of setting clear goals aligned with God’s kingdom and consistently moving forward in faith. As life throws unexpected challenges our way, Pastor Rick urges us to make wise decisions grounded in Scripture, even when faced with tough situations.

Sunday, August 25, 2025 - Granger Smith - Finding True Treasure
Tuesday Aug 27, 2024
Tuesday Aug 27, 2024
In this message, we introduce special guest speaker Granger Smith, a man who spent most of his life as a successful country music artist. But a year ago, he left it all behind to fully follow Jesus. Granger is here to share a powerful message based on Matthew 13:44, a verse where Jesus talks about the Kingdom of Heaven being like a treasure hidden in a field.
Granger opens with a story about Dietrich Bonhoeffer, a pastor who stood strong in his faith even as he faced death in a concentration camp during World War II. Bonhoeffer's courage came from his belief in something greater—a treasure worth more than anything else in life.
As Granger dives into the parable of the hidden treasure, he asks a big question: Do you have eyes for this treasure? He challenges us to think about what we value most and what we’re willing to give up to gain something as priceless as the Kingdom of Heaven. Through this video, Granger encourages us to see the Kingdom of Heaven as something so valuable that losing everything else to gain it is worth it. He reminds us that this treasure is not about money or power, but about a relationship with God that’s open to everyone who seeks it.
Granger’s message is simple but deep: Are we willing to trade our lesser treasures for the one that truly matters?
